The Professional Study programme is an annual initiative by the Dean’s Office, designed to provide students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universitas Brawijaya with the opportunity to gain insight into the broad scope of specialisations and working environments within the field of veterinary medicine, thereby expanding their perspective on the veterinary profession.
The 2024 Professional Study programme took place in Bandung, under the theme “MACROLIDE” (Mari Cronycus Lungo Ing Bandung). This event was targeted at students of the 2023 cohort and spanned four days, from 4th to 8th August 2024.
The activities included:
Poultry Seminar: Presented by PT TMC, this seminar focused on the poultry industry and the role of veterinarians in the field of poultry.
Visit to the Lembang Artificial Insemination Centre: Students were exposed to reproductive technology and the role of veterinarians as veterinary medical professionals in the control of diseases in large livestock.
Visit to AK9 Dog Training in Lembang: Veterinarians monitor the health of pets undergoing training.
Visit to Lembang Park & Zoo: This visit provided students with the opportunity to learn about wildlife health management in a zoo setting.
Through these activities, it is hoped that students will gain firsthand experience of various career prospects as veterinarians, helping them to better prepare for their future careers.
