Proactive Health Education: Building Immunity and Healthy Habits at Baitul Makmur Elementary School Malang

Taking proactive steps in health and hygiene education, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Brawijaya University (FKH UB), led by Drh. Dahlia has successfully implemented the inspiring DPP SPP community service program at SD Baitul Makmur Malang. Taking place over 2 days, 11-14 June 2024, this event invites grade 4 and 5 students to understand and implement a healthy lifestyle. Drh. Dahlia conveyed strategies for improving the immune system through good nutrition, adequate rest, and maintaining cleanliness. “We can protect ourselves from many diseases just with simple things that we do every day,” he said.

An interactive session on effective and correct hand washing was also an important part of the activity, with drh. Yudith, drh. Shelly and a team of FKH UB students demonstrated practical hand washing techniques. These activities not only educate, but also train students to apply these skills at home, school, and their communities. This activity succeeded in creating a fun and beneficial learning experience, reinforcing the importance of health education from an early age. This activity is a manifestation of FKH UB’s commitment to empowering science for the wider community.
